Alligator Bags of Port Aransas by Debra Martz There are two very large alligators that have lived in the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center in Port Aransas, Texas for quite some time. By locals, they are referred to as Bags and Boots. This is Bags...the smaller of the two. Though this area is called a birding center, there is no containment. All wildlife and birds are free to come and go. It is a great place for bird watching along a sidewalk where flowering plants are maintained and then onto the boardwalk, including an observation tower, that extends out over the brine water marsh .
