Ruddy Turnstones have a wide migratory range and the coast of South Texas is just one small part of where the go for the winter. There were a number of these birds, members of the Sandpiper family, running around and foraging on the granite stones which create the jetties of Packery Channel. The Packery Channel allows pleasure boats and fishing boats to pass from the Gulf of Mexico into the Laguna Madre located on North Padre Island which is a part of Corpus Christi, Texas.
