Pied-billed Grebe Reflecting On the Water by Debra Martz On an outing for bird watching I had the pleasure of watching this small Pied-billed Grebe (podilymbus podiceps) diving and feeding. It spent a lot of time underwater in a heavily covered with reeds and often I wondered if it would be able to move the vegetation enough to come up for air. It moved along time and again just barely getting its head above water but finally made its way out and away from the reeds. And finally in an area with enough light that I could capture and image.
