Giant Bird of Paradise Bloom by Debra Martz I saw my first Giant Bird of Paradise on vacation in Cadiz Spain and new that someday I would have to have one for my yard; and now I do! Unlike the other variety of Bird of Paradise with the bright orange heads, this one has extremely large bird-like flowers with white heads and blue tongues. Because of the white heads, they are also referred to as White Birds of Paradise. The clumps can spread up to 11 feet and reach up to 20 feet in height.
